Course Watering

As many of you are aware we have been discussing with Hurstville Council ways that we can get water on the course. We are pleased to announce the council has approved a project to clean up the storm water from the Peakhurst Industrial Estate that runs under the golf course into Lime Kiln Bay.

The project is referred to as Storm Water Harvesting and the result will be a dam on Hurstville Golf Course somewhere around the 4th hole.

The total cost of the project will be around $1.19 million and Hurstville Council currently has $600,000 set aside for the project as well as waiting for approval of additional funding of a further $150,000 to $200,000 from the State Government .

Of the $600,000 currently set aside around 30% of these funds are from the occupancy fees Hurstville Golf Club has paid to the Council as set out in our Memorandum of Understanding to be used for Golf Course Development.

The planned commencement date for the project is late 2011 and as further information becomes available we will provide this to you. There is also additional information in the Hurstville City Council – Draft Management Plan 2011 – 2015.(page 11). The link below will take you there.
